Out of the Public Eye
A high-profile couple believed their adult child had relapsed into the illicit and life-threatening behaviors that had previously afflicted their child. Fearful that the child’s life was again at risk, the couple asked MegaGroup to assist in gathering evidence of the child’s activities as a way of bringing about a conversation in which the individual might agree to seek treatment, while at the same time keeping a safe watch over the child. Media exposure was an additional concern for the family, who wanted to allow their child the chance to work through personal difficulties outside media scrutiny.
The MegaGroup Research Team got to work creating a dossier of the child’s known associates and hangouts, while members of the Field Operative team initiated 24-hour surveillance of the Subject. Surveillance agents were carefully selected based on their ability to blend easily into the Subject’s specific surroundings and to interact with associates. Working as an integrated unit, the Research Team provided real-time intelligence to field operatives as they moved around the city and ingratiated themselves with new people.
Over the month-long assignment, the Clients were kept apprised of the proceedings. The real-time information afforded the couple peace of mind and enabled MegaGroup to adjust activities in the field based on shared intelligence whenever needed. The open flow of communication also allowed the couple to plan their intervention in a way that would best serve their child.
Clients reported that the information provided to them through this assignment was instrumental during the intervention and the child ultimately agreed to seek help. MegaGroup remained on assignment and assisted the family in securing a treatment facility where the child could rebuild in peace, out of the public eye.
