Sarah Byrnes
Sarah Byrnes maintains over 20 years of expertise leading and directing thousands of complex investigative assignments across domestic and international jurisdictions. Her knowledge and experience has contributed to providing key intelligence to clients including multinational law firms and enterprises, finance and lending institutions, politicians, government agencies, high net worth individuals and family offices.
Sarah heads MegaGroup’s Investigations practice with a focus on matters relating to pre-transactional and investigative due diligence, corporate and financial fraud and misconduct, civil and criminal litigation support, global asset tracing and pre-employment background investigations.
With a strong passion and long history of providing litigation support, Sarah enjoys working closely with in-house and outside counsel to assist in achieving litigation objectives. Having earned an exemplary reputation for her analysis of complex matters, Sarah frequently works with counsel and clients beyond the investigation level, being brought in to consult on litigation and case strategies.
Sarah supports MegaGroup’s Intelligence practice by overseeing assignments relating to business intelligence, due diligence and competitive intelligence. As an expert in fact-finding and critical analysis, Sarah further leads MegaGroup’s Research Team responsible for information gathering as well as working closely with MegaGroup’s Field Operative teams.
Sarah has spoken on matters ranging from the investigating of complex fraud matters to the managing of multifaceted field operations and has consulted on several Hollywood entertainment projects. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from UCLA.
Among her many professional, civic and philanthropic affiliations Sarah is a licensed private investigator in the states of California, New York and Illinois and is a Certified Fraud Examiner. She currently serves as a board member of several organizations including Temple Israel of Hollywood and the Los Angeles County Bar Foundation’s Counsel for Justice. She has been additionally active in numerous social action causes including Step Up! Women’s Network, the Jewish Federation’s Koreh LA literacy program, Spark mentoring program, Big Sunday and numerous pro bono assignments.
